About the Role

Gritter Francona is seeking an Animated Graphic/Visual Artist to create high-quality animated graphics, illustrations, and multimedia assets for educational video initiatives supporting the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) National Center for PTSD. You’ll translate evidence-based clinical information into clear, engaging, and accessible visuals for Veterans, trauma survivors, caregivers, healthcare providers, and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and produce original animated graphics, illustrations, visual effects, and multimedia assets for educational videos and digital communications
  • Turn complex behavioral health and clinical topics into visually understandable concepts that remain accessible and engaging
  • Create animations that accurately reflect evidence-based information on trauma, PTSD, treatments, recovery, and co-occurring conditions
  • Design characters, environments, icons, infographics, motion graphics, and other visual elements while maintaining consistent visual style across projects
  • Develop visuals for multiple channels, including websites, social media, presentations, and educational materials
  • Collaborate with SMEs, scriptwriters, project managers, and government stakeholders to ensure scientific accuracy and alignment with approved protocols
  • Interpret storyboards and scripts to build visual narratives that support treatment engagement and public understanding
  • Revise artwork and animations based on stakeholder review, feedback, and quality assurance requirements
  • Ensure deliverables meet branding standards, accessibility expectations, and Section 508 requirements as applicable
  • Apply inclusive, culturally sensitive visual design practices appropriate for diverse audiences and experiences
  • Organize project files, templates, and documentation to support efficient updates and future revisions
  • Coordinate with production teams so graphic assets integrate smoothly into final animated video outputs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Animation, Digital Media, Fine Arts, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience producing animated graphics, visual design, or multimedia products relevant to the position
