About the Role
Caterpillar is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to support litigation matters and help protect the company’s interests across a global organization. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to manage legal risk, strengthen strategy, and ensure disputes are handled with care and precision.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee litigation strategy for assigned matters, including coordination with outside counsel
- Advise business leaders on legal risk and potential outcomes
- Support case development through investigation, document review, and evaluation of claims and defenses
- Assist with motions, discovery strategy, and settlement discussions as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate legal guidance
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active licensure to practice law
- Significant litigation experience, including handling complex matters
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and professional communication
