About the Role
Reporting to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, the Assistant Coach supports all aspects of an NJCAA intercollegiate basketball program at Marion Military Institute. This role focuses on helping build a competitive team while supporting student-athletes in the classroom and in their personal development.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in developing and maintaining a recruiting system to identify and evaluate potential student-athletes.
- Coordinate recruiting efforts with local high school coaches and parents, including on-campus and off-campus scouting.
- Support student-athlete development by helping encourage psychological, social, and mental skills needed for success in academics and athletics.
Requirements
- Experience supporting a competitive collegiate or junior college men’s basketball program (playing and/or coaching experience preferred).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a Head Coach and work with student-athletes.
- Strong recruiting and communication skills with coaches, parents, and prospects.
