About the Role
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Associate or Mid-Level Atmospheric Scientist (Level 2 or 3) to join the team at the Starfire Optical Range on Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role supports research and development for electro-optical systems and advances Space Domain Awareness capabilities for the Air Force Research Laboratory Optics Division.
Responsibilities
- Analyze atmospheric and environmental data to support electro-optical system performance
- Develop and apply modeling and simulation methods to interpret test and operational results
- Support hardware and software development efforts related to atmospheric characterization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate scientific findings into actionable engineering inputs
- Contribute to R&D activities using advanced telescope research facilities
Requirements
- Strong background in data analysis, modeling, and simulation
- Experience supporting atmospheric science or related environmental analysis
- Familiarity with electro-optical systems and/or atmospheric effects on optical performance
- Ability to work effectively in a research-focused, multidisciplinary environment
