About the Role

insitro is building a platform that helps bring better therapies to the patients who need them most—faster. As a Senior Automation Engineer, you’ll partner with scientists, software engineers, and microscopy engineers to design and improve automated systems and protocols that are reliable, reusable, and built to scale.

This is an onsite position based at our South San Francisco headquarters, with an expectation of being in the office at least 4 days per week. You’ll join the Automation team and report to the Director, Process Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and refine automation systems and operating protocols
  • Build robust, scalable automation capabilities that support a continuous cycle of discovery
  • Contribute to the development of reusable tooling and repeatable workflows
  • Work closely with engineering and scientific stakeholders to translate requirements into dependable automation

Requirements

  • Experience designing and implementing automation for scientific, laboratory, or process environments
  • Strong ability to collaborate with scientists and software/engineering teams
  • Comfort owning technical improvements from concept through execution
  • Experience working in fast-moving, evolving product or research environments
