About the Role
Hot Springs National Park is seeking a Hydrologic Technician for seasonal support during the typical entry-on-duty period of October 2026 through March 2027 (dates may vary due to weather, project needs, or funding). This role is open to the first 50 applicants or until 07/20/2026, whichever comes first.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, maintain, and retrieve water quality monitoring equipment
- Assist with water quality monitoring and field data collection
- Support data analysis, report preparation, and presentation of scientific information
- Conduct and document field observations related to geologic and water resources, climate conditions, and local fauna and flora
- Provide logistical support to scientists conducting studies within the park
Requirements
- Ability to perform fieldwork and support monitoring activities in varying weather conditions
- Basic understanding of water quality monitoring and field data collection
- Comfort assisting with data review, report drafting, and scientific information organization
- Willingness to document field observations accurately and consistently
