About the Role
MatX is building best-in-class silicon that helps advanced AI run efficiently and reliably. As a BMC Firmware Engineer on our host system software team, you’ll help deliver performant, functionally accurate out-of-band management firmware that works seamlessly with our AI platforms.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the BMC/OpenBMC firmware stack to support MatX compute and system requirements
- Collaborate with hardware and host software teams to ensure out-of-band management is designed together with host drivers and orchestration
- Implement and validate firmware features that improve manageability, connectivity, and overall system behavior
- Troubleshoot issues across firmware and platform layers, and drive fixes to completion
- Contribute to documentation and maintainability of firmware components
Requirements
- Experience developing firmware for BMC/OpenBMC or comparable embedded management systems
- Strong systems programming skills (e.g., C/C++) and comfort working close to hardware
- Knowledge of Linux-based environments and out-of-band management concepts
- Ability to debug complex issues using logs, instrumentation, and reproducible test cases
- Strong collaboration skills across firmware, host software, and hardware teams
