Commercial Counsel (Contract Infrastructure) | Legal | Remote

About the Role

finmid is building modern infrastructure that helps SMEs access capital through the platforms they already use. As we scale, our contracting needs grow in both volume and complexity—spanning platform partnerships, borrower agreements, supplier procurement, and the regulatory frameworks that connect it all.

In this role, you’ll build the commercial legal infrastructure that enables finmid to contract at the same pace as product development, bringing together commercial contracting, product enablement, and AI-driven workflow design.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement contract frameworks that support platform partnerships, borrower and supplier contracting, and related commercial terms
• Partner with product and engineering teams to enable faster contracting and clearer legal workflows
• Develop and refine contract templates, playbooks, and approval processes to improve consistency and speed
• Support AI-driven workflow concepts by structuring legal requirements for automation where appropriate
• Ensure contracting processes align with applicable regulatory and compliance expectations

Requirements

• Experience as commercial counsel with a strong background in contract drafting, negotiation, and contract lifecycle management
• Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable legal frameworks and operational playbooks
• Comfort collaborating closely with product, engineering, and operations teams
• Experience working with complex contracting structures and regulatory considerations
• Strong communication skills and a pragmatic approach to enabling business velocity
