About the Role
We’re seeking a Construction Manager and Mechanical Engineer (Plumbing) to serve as the Government’s owner’s representative for mechanical systems in active Veterans Affairs medical facilities. In this Site Lead role, you’ll provide specialized engineering guidance and construction management support across planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems throughout the full project lifecycle
- Review project documentation, evaluate constructability, and identify technical risks
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, federal, and VA design standards
- Coordinate with VA stakeholders, architects, engineers, and contractors to support successful delivery in a healthcare environment
- Support commissioning and closeout activities to confirm systems meet requirements
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering with plumbing/HVAC system knowledge
- Experience providing construction management and engineering support on building infrastructure or facility projects
- Strong ability to interpret engineering documents and assess constructability
- Working knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and compliance requirements for healthcare or government facilities
