About the Role
Waymo is seeking a Cybersecurity Counsel to support legal work tied to our autonomous driving technology. You’ll partner with internal teams to help move key initiatives from early technical concepts through scaled commercial deployment, with a focus on building trust, reducing risk, and supporting business growth.
Responsibilities
- Advise on legal issues related to cybersecurity for autonomous driving systems and related products
- Support technology and product teams on cybersecurity-related requirements, policies, and contractual needs
- Collaborate across Legal and other stakeholders to structure and negotiate commercial agreements
- Help assess and manage legal risk in connection with security incidents, compliance obligations, and evolving standards
Requirements
- J.D. and active legal credentials to practice in the United States
- Strong experience advising on cybersecurity, privacy, and/or technology risk matters
- Solid understanding of security and compliance considerations as they relate to software, systems, and connected products
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with engineering and business teams
