About the Role
Join a cross-functional team supporting Howmet’s casting, core, and rings facilities. As a Data Scientist, you’ll use advanced analytics to uncover drivers of manufacturing and quality performance, build predictive capabilities, and help teams turn insights into measurable improvements.
Responsibilities
- Build, clean, and analyze large datasets to identify multi-factor interactions
- Use tools such as SAS, SQL, Python, R, Minitab, and Power BI to support data-driven decision-making
- Apply data science methods to address manufacturing, quality, and engineering challenges
- Develop and deploy analytics tools that enable continuous improvement
- Promote a data-driven culture through expanding use cases and training others
- Partner with internal customers to run validation trials, implement process improvements, and integrate predictive models
- Travel up to 50% to support plants in France, the UK, and Germany
Requirements
- Strong experience with SQL and at least one of Python or R
- Proficiency with analytical and visualization tools (e.g., SAS, Minitab, Power BI)
- Demonstrated ability to solve real-world manufacturing or engineering problems with data
- Comfort collaborating across teams and presenting results to technical and non-technical stakeholders
