About the Role
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO) is the company’s senior execution leader and the CEO’s primary partner in delivering strategic, operational, commercial, and financial objectives. This role provides day-to-day enterprise leadership, translates board-approved priorities into measurable outcomes, and builds organizational capacity so the CEO can focus on long-term growth, transformation, and capital strategy.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO to lead overall company management and execution of the strategic plan
- Drive delivery of annual business objectives and ensure alignment across corporate strategy, departmental priorities, and individual performance goals
- Oversee core revenue-generating businesses, including investment banking, sales & services, wealth management, trading & brokerage, and treasury/financial institutions
- Lead initiatives to improve profitability, efficiency, productivity, and shareholder value
- Monitor performance against budgets and targets; identify gaps early and drive corrective actions
- Coordinate enterprise-wide transformation and strategic initiatives across business units and support functions
- Serve as a key member of the Executive Management Team and chair meetings as delegated by the CEO
- Support financial planning and resource optimization in partnership with the CEO and CFO
- Ensure operational excellence, resilience, and service delivery improvements in collaboration with Operations and IT leadership
- Support governance and controls by monitoring regulatory, audit, compliance, and risk management initiatives
- Represent the company with stakeholders (clients, regulators, and industry bodies) when delegated
- Act as Acting Chief Executive Officer when required
Requirements
- Proven senior executive leadership experience with enterprise-wide strategy and execution
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, commercial performance, and market expansion
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, performance monitoring, and disciplined expense management
- Experience overseeing complex operational and technology-enabled initiatives
- Knowledge of governance, regulatory oversight, audit/compliance, and risk management practices
- Track record of stakeholder engagement and representing an organization externally
- High standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professional conduct
