About the Role
FormativGroup is building an early-stage data platform for regulated enterprises, focused on perimeter-safe data lineage and migration impact analysis. We’re looking for a Director of Engineering to lead and scale the engineering organization behind a real, working product—this is a “build” role with meaningful ownership.
Responsibilities
- Own how the team ships, including delivery, engineering quality, and security readiness
- Lead a distributed engineering organization spanning platform/product engineering, connectors, QA, and DevOps/infrastructure
- Partner closely with the Chief Architect to execute the product roadmap and translate deep product IP into shipped outcomes
- Establish and improve engineering processes to bring clarity, alignment, and momentum to a capable team
- Drive roadmap execution across engineering workstreams, from planning through release
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience building and scaling engineering teams in platform/product environments
- Strong understanding of software delivery practices, quality engineering, and security considerations
- Experience working with data platform concepts such as lineage, migration analysis, or regulated-data workflows
- Ability to collaborate across architecture, engineering execution, and cross-functional stakeholders
