About the Role
Shield AI is seeking a Director of People Operations to lead and modernize our People Operations function as we scale. You’ll design technology-enabled, AI-informed processes that elevate the employee experience across the full employee lifecycle—from recruiting and onboarding to ongoing lifecycle operations. This role blends strategic transformation with hands-on operational leadership, partnering closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, Legal, and business leaders.
Responsibilities
- Set and execute a unified People Operations vision, operating model, and multi-year roadmap covering interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and lifecycle operations.
- Own day-to-day People Operations execution to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
- Build scalable workflows and processes that improve efficiency and employee experience.
- Partner cross-functionally to align People Operations priorities with business needs and operational realities.
- Lead team performance and continuous improvement to support a high-performing People organization.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in People Operations, HR operations, or related operational HR functions.
- Track record of building scalable processes and operating models for growth.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with stakeholders including Payroll, Finance, IT, and Legal.
- Experience improving employee lifecycle programs such as recruiting coordination and onboarding operations.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with both strategic and operational responsibilities.
