About the Role
KiwiCo is looking for an experienced Director of Product Design to lead the design of physical products that delight kids and families. You’ll help shape hands-on experiences that spark creativity and curiosity, while owning the quality, usability, and overall feel of what we build.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end product design for physical offerings, from concept through launch
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define product direction, requirements, and design goals
- Ensure designs are practical to produce and aligned with customer experience standards
- Guide and mentor designers to raise craft, clarity, and consistency across projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders to balance creativity, feasibility, and business objectives
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in product design, preferably for physical or consumer products
- Strong design thinking and ability to translate user needs into tangible solutions
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and influence outcomes
- Experience managing design processes, reviews, and quality standards
- Passion for building products for kids and families
Work Location & Schedule
- Hybrid schedule: 3–4 office days per week in Mountain View, CA, with the remainder remote
- Office is within walking distance of the Caltrain station
