About the Role
Join our corrections education team in Leavenworth, Kansas, helping create a humane, secure environment while supporting successful reentry. As the Education Supervisor, you will oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of academic and vocational education programs for incarcerated individuals.
Responsibilities
- Originate, plan, implement, and evaluate education and learning initiatives, including adult continuing education, literacy, GED, ESL, post-secondary, and occupational/vocational training
- Assess program needs across the total inmate population and ensure appropriate coverage in education and recreation/libraries
- Monitor and manage program delivery, including special learning needs and release readiness education
- Conduct periodic evaluations of academic, vocational, and recreational programming and stay current on evolving best practices
- Develop, maintain, and monitor management information systems to track program performance and inform planning
Requirements
- Experience overseeing education or training programs with demonstrated program planning and evaluation skills
- Strong understanding of adult education, literacy/GED, ESL, or vocational training program models
- Ability to use data and reporting systems to measure outcomes and guide improvements
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
