About the Role
We’re looking for an Electrical Automation Engineer to design, implement, and support electrical control systems for overhead cranes and material handling equipment. This onsite contract-to-hire role focuses on automation solutions, upgrades to existing controls, and technical support from installation through commissioning and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve electrical control and automation systems for industrial material handling equipment
- Program and troubleshoot PLC-based control logic
- Support installation, startup, and commissioning activities
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure system performance and reliability
- Provide ongoing technical support for control systems after go-live
Requirements
- Experience with industrial automation and electrical controls
- Hands-on PLC programming experience
- Strong understanding of control system design and troubleshooting
- Ability to work onsite in Ashland, VA on a Monday–Friday schedule
Benefits
- 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity
- Starting pay from $39.00/hour (higher based on experience)
- Monday–Friday daytime schedule
