About the Role
Join the Division of Emergency Management (DEM) as an Emergency Services Dispatcher and help ensure timely, accurate support for both emergency and non-emergency requests. In this role, you’ll operate within a dynamic public safety environment while following established policies and confidentiality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls for service and respond appropriately
- Dispatch emergency and non-emergency requests using established procedures
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English with callers and partner agencies
- Operate and coordinate radio, alarm, and surveillance systems used in the communications center
- Participate in after-action reviews, incident reviews, and other quality assurance activities
- Apply confidentiality policies when handling information shared with the public, media, or other parties
Requirements
- Experience as a Public Safety Dispatcher and/or experience operating police, fire, and security radio systems
- Knowledge of fire and security alarm operations and/or closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems
- Strong understanding of and ability to follow current policies and procedures
- High proficiency in English for effective communication during stressful situations
