About the Role
Challenge Preparatory Charter School is seeking a Grade 7 Social Studies Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We serve more than 1,200 scholars across multiple sites in the Far Rockaway area, supporting students to master New York State Learning Standards and build the skills needed for future careers and college success.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Grade 7 Social Studies instruction aligned to NY State Learning Standards
- Use data to inform instruction and support student growth
- Create a safe, supportive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional learning
- Support authentic learning experiences, including field-based opportunities and student reflection
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum and instructional practices
Requirements
- Experience teaching middle school social studies or related coursework
- Strong understanding of NY State Learning Standards for Social Studies
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs
- Commitment to student well-being and a positive classroom culture
