Challenge Preparatory Charter School is seeking a Grade 8 Social Studies teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Join a mission-driven team serving more than 1,200 students across three campuses in Far Rockaway, Queens, with a focus on strong academic outcomes and student growth.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Grade 8 Social Studies instruction aligned to New York State Learning Standards
• Use data to inform instruction and support students in reaching mastery
• Create a safe, supportive classroom culture that strengthens social-emotional learning
• Facilitate authentic learning experiences, including field-based activities and career-connected learning
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum, instruction, and student outcomes

Requirements

• Experience teaching Social Studies at the middle school level (Grade 6–8 preferred)
• Strong understanding of NY State Learning Standards and effective instructional practices
• Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners
• Commitment to student well-being, academic rigor, and continuous improvement
