About the Role
Challenge Preparatory Charter School is seeking a High School ELA Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Join a mission-driven team serving students across three sites in the Far Rockaway area of Queens, supporting scholars in reaching New York State Learning Standards and building strong pathways to college and careers.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging ELA instruction aligned to NY State Learning Standards
- Use data to inform instruction and support student mastery
- Foster a safe, supportive classroom culture that strengthens social-emotional learning
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices and student outcomes
- Support students with literacy development through rigorous, technology-infused learning
- Contribute to school-wide efforts that reflect the mission and values of Challenge Prep
Requirements
- Experience teaching high school English Language Arts or equivalent coursework
- Strong understanding of literacy instruction and standards-based teaching
- Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions
- Commitment to a supportive, high-expectations learning environment
