About the Role

Join U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Human Resource Management within the Department of Homeland Security. In this Human Resources Specialist role focused on recruitment and placement, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert supporting staffing and pay actions while applying relevant rules, laws, and regulations.

This position is associated with duty locations including Bloomington, MN; Minneapolis, MN; and Indianapolis, IN, with the possibility of additional selections for other organizational divisions and units.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment and placement activities by applying HR policies and procedures
  • Assist with staffing actions and related processing requirements
  • Apply pay and processing rules, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Provide HR expertise to support talent management initiatives

Requirements

  • Experience applying HR guidance to recruitment, placement, or staffing processes
  • Strong understanding of HR rules, regulations, and compliance expectations
  • Ability to interpret and apply staffing and pay-related policies accurately

Compensation & Growth

  • Starting salary range: $50,460 (GS-07, Step 1) to $80,243 (GS-09, Step 10)
  • Promotion potential up to $126,859 (GS-12, Step 10)

Work Location

  • City: Indianapolis, IN (with additional listed locations including Bloomington and Minneapolis, MN)
