About the Role
Microsoft Internal Audit is looking for an IT Auditor to help strengthen risk management, resilience, and operational excellence across large-scale technology environments. In this role, you’ll evaluate how well technology systems and processes manage risk and support secure, reliable, and scalable operations.
You’ll focus on areas including cloud services, datacenter operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, software engineering, and emerging technologies such as AI.
Responsibilities
- Lead risk-based audit engagements from planning through fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up
- Assess technology risks and the effectiveness of controls and governance across multiple technical domains
- Partner with engineering, operations, security, and business stakeholders to identify control gaps
- Provide objective findings and insights to support operational and control improvements
- Contribute to audit execution by coordinating evidence collection and validating results
Requirements
- Experience conducting IT audits, technology risk assessments, or internal controls reviews
- Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, and control evaluation
- Familiarity with cloud and datacenter environments, cybersecurity concepts, and networking fundamentals
- Ability to communicate audit results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfort working independently as an individual contributor while collaborating across teams
