About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Lead Substation Physical Designer to support Electrical Substation Project Engineers and deliver accurate, on-time drawing packages for complex power delivery projects and proposals. You’ll produce detailed physical design deliverables for high-voltage (HV) substations, including both 2D drawings and 3D models.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain general arrangement drawings for AIS/GIS HV substations with control buildings
  • Develop plan views, elevations, and equipment erection details
  • Produce structural and electrical details, lightning protection, and grounding/ground grid drawings
  • Design foundations, tray/conduit/conductor/trough layouts, and duct bank drawings
  • Generate detailed bills of materials and support proposal documentation
  • Build 3D substation models using Revit or AutoCAD 3D and convert them into electrical physical 2D drawing sets
  • Apply strong Revit expertise to implement GE BIM strategy and workflows aligned with ISO-19650 and customer BIM requirements

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a substation physical designer for HV projects
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit (and ability to use AutoCAD 3D when needed)
  • Ability to produce complex 2D electrical/substation drawings from 3D models
  • Familiarity with BIM processes and standards, including ISO-19650
  • Experience supporting project engineers with complete, coordinated drawing packages and documentation
