About the Role
SpaceX is building and operating combined-cycle gas turbine power plants that must reliably start up, remain online, and perform at rated output. As a Power Plant Engineer, you’ll own the design-to-build execution of the full power plant system, including gas turbines, mechanical and electrical balance of plant, and the controls and field support needed to keep the facility running day after day.
Responsibilities
- Support the full lifecycle of gas turbine power generation assets, including installation, commissioning, startup, and operations
- Own power plant design and build activities covering gas turbines and all balance-of-plant systems
- Lead commissioning activities in the control room during startup
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the field to keep the plant operating at target performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are integrated and ready for rated output
Requirements
- Experience with gas turbine power generation or comparable power plant systems
- Hands-on experience with commissioning, startup, and operational troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical balance-of-plant systems
- Ability to work in a non-desk environment, including construction and field support
Benefits
- Opportunity to contribute to mission-critical infrastructure for space exploration
- Hands-on engineering work with real operational impact
- Collaborative environment with teams focused on reliability and performance
