About the Role
DREAM Charter Schools is seeking a Middle School Social Studies Teacher to help inspire rigorous learning and meaningful student growth. Founded in 1991 and serving more than 2,500 youth across East Harlem and the South Bronx, DREAM supports students through a whole-child approach that blends academics, social-emotional learning, and strong family and community partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging social studies instruction aligned to academic expectations
- Support students’ social-emotional development and create a positive classroom culture
- Collaborate with families and the broader community to strengthen student outcomes
- Contribute to the school’s extended-day and extended-year learning model
- Use assessment data to guide instruction and support student progress
Requirements
- Experience teaching middle school social studies (or relevant classroom experience)
- Strong understanding of student-centered instruction and classroom management
- Commitment to inclusive learning and whole-child development
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and community partners
