About the Role
WKRC is seeking a creative, forward-thinking News Producer to help shape what a local newscast can be. If you enjoy storytelling, experimenting with new approaches, and creating more than just a rundown, you’ll fit right in.
In this role, you’ll partner with managers, anchors, and directors to develop dynamic newscasts designed to connect with viewers across platforms.
Responsibilities
- Write and produce engaging, memorable segments for newscasts
- Collaborate with anchors, directors, and newsroom leadership to bring stories to life
- Generate fresh ideas and challenge the status quo in rundown planning and storytelling
- Reimagine reporter presentations and strengthen on-air storytelling flow
- Use strong video and audio elements to elevate each story
- Develop content that performs not only on-air, but also on digital platforms
Requirements
- Strong writing skills with a creative, audience-focused mindset
- Experience producing or coordinating news content for broadcast and/or digital
- Comfort experimenting with format and presentation to improve storytelling
- Ability to collaborate closely in a fast-paced newsroom environment
