About the Role
Join the Maine Families Program as a Parent Education Professional supporting families from prenatal through age five in Lincoln County. You’ll deliver the Parent as Teachers™ evidence-based model, helping strengthen protective factors that reduce risk and support healthy child development.
The role includes in-home visits and virtual sessions via Zoom, with a focus on improving parent knowledge, promoting early identification of developmental delays, enhancing school readiness, and reducing child abuse and neglect through supportive, research-informed guidance.
Responsibilities
- Provide parent education using the Parent as Teachers™ model
- Conduct home-based visits and virtual sessions to support families
- Help parents build protective factors such as resilience, child development knowledge, parenting skills, social connections, and children’s social-emotional competence
- Support early detection and connect families to appropriate resources when concerns arise
- Work with families across prenatal to age five within Lincoln County
Requirements
- Commitment to family-centered, strengths-based support for young children and caregivers
- Ability to deliver education both in-home and virtually (Zoom)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Willingness to travel within Lincoln County

- Typical hiring range: $46,000–$50,000 (commensurate with qualifications)
