About the Role
Databricks is looking for a PhD GenAI Research Scientist Intern to help advance research in Mosaic AI—our platform for building AI models and systems using enterprise data. You’ll work on next-generation techniques such as fine-tuning large language models and developing compound AI systems that combine retrieval and agents.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to research efforts focused on GenAI methods for enterprise domains
- Prototype and evaluate model and system approaches using company and partner data
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate findings into practical implementations
- Document experiments, results, and learnings to support internal knowledge sharing
Requirements
- PhD student (or recent PhD graduate) in a relevant field such as AI, machine learning, computer science, or related areas
- Strong foundation in generative AI and/or large language model techniques
- Experience with ML research practices, including experimentation and evaluation
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly in a research setting
