About the Role
West Point Elementary School (Department of Defense Education Activity - Americas, Mid-Atlantic District) is seeking an Educational Aide to support our Pre-K classroom. This position works in a classroom environment and helps ensure a smooth, consistent learning experience for students throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Support classroom instruction by preparing and organizing instructional materials
- Maintain an orderly, clean, and welcoming learning environment
- Monitor students during different parts of the school day
- Assist with personal care routines including feeding, toileting, and hygiene
- Help operate instructional equipment and classroom technology devices
- Accompany and supervise students during field trips
- Support continuity of the program when the teacher is absent
- Support family engagement through home visits, parent-teacher conferences, and other meetings
- Create classroom displays that reflect learning objectives
- Use assistive technology to help record and track student data
Requirements
- Experience supporting early childhood learners in a school or childcare setting
- Ability to assist with basic personal care routines for young children
- Comfort using instructional technology and equipment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with teachers and families
- Ability to supervise students and maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment
