About the Role
Flex is a growth-stage FinTech headquartered in New York, building a better way for renters to pay on time. We’re changing rent payments from something rigid and expensive into a flexible experience that fits real budgets throughout the month. As our Principal Product Designer, you’ll be the top individual contributor for design—setting the bar for craft, quality, and user-centered thinking across our product portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact product design across key areas of the platform, from early concept through delivery
- Set and reinforce design standards for quality, usability, and consistency across the product experience
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and stakeholders to translate goals into clear design solutions
- Mentor and influence design practice through thoughtful reviews, critique, and documentation
- Use research and data to shape design decisions and improve customer outcomes
Requirements
- Proven experience as a senior or principal-level product designer shipping end-to-end experiences
- Strong portfolio demonstrating craft, systems thinking, and measurable impact
- Expertise in design tools and workflows, including prototyping and design documentation
- Ability to communicate design rationale clearly and influence cross-functional teams
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, growth-stage environment
