About the Role
KBR is seeking a Principal Level System Engineer to support the Stratosphere Troposphere Response using Infrared Vertically-resolved light Explorer (STRIVE) at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. In this mission-driven position, you’ll help shape Earth science data systems that support research, innovation, and improved capabilities for anticipating environmental events and reducing disaster impacts.
Responsibilities
- Lead system engineering activities for the STRIVE program, coordinating technical efforts across stakeholders.
- Support development and integration of Earth science data systems used by scientists and mission teams.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and program personnel to translate mission needs into system requirements.
- Contribute to verification and validation planning to ensure system performance and reliability.
- Help drive responsible and safe engineering practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Principal-level experience in system engineering for complex technical programs.
- Strong understanding of requirements, integration, and verification/validation concepts.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including scientists and engineers.
- Experience working in an onsite environment with regular in-person interaction.
