About the Role
Fivetran and dbt Labs are joining forces to help organizations unlock the full value of their data. As Product Counsel, you’ll support product and business teams as we build the data infrastructure layer that helps customers move, transform, and trust their data—across ingestion, transformation, and downstream use cases.
Responsibilities
- Advise product, engineering, and go-to-market stakeholders on legal considerations impacting product development and customer delivery
- Review, draft, and negotiate customer-facing and partner agreements with an emphasis on clarity and risk management
- Support privacy, security, and data-related contract language to align with customer expectations and applicable requirements
- Provide practical guidance on product features, licensing, and terms of service to reduce friction and accelerate execution
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure legal decisions are consistent, scalable, and aligned with company strategy
Requirements
- J.D. and active experience providing legal counsel in a technology or SaaS environment
- Strong contract and commercial review skills, with comfort handling complex clauses and risk tradeoffs
- Working knowledge of data privacy/security concepts and how they apply to product and contracts
- Excellent judgment, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams
- Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize in a fast-moving product environment
