About the Role
East Louisiana Mental Health System (ELMHS) is seeking a motivated Psychiatric Aide to support adult behavioral health services. This role is based at our facility in Jackson, Louisiana, and focuses on providing direct, compassionate patient care in a safe, therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide supportive direct patient care under clinical supervision
- Help maintain a safe and therapeutic setting for patients and staff
- Monitor patient well-being and report concerns to the care team
- Assist with therapeutic group activities and patient engagement
- Support day-to-day program operations within inpatient and residential settings
Requirements
- Detail-oriented with a positive, patient-centered approach
- Ability to maintain safety and professionalism in a behavioral health environment
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in a caregiving or behavioral health environment is preferred
