About the Role
Artefacts builds software tools that help robotics developers run continuous simulation as part of their daily workflow—tightly integrated with CI. You’ll help create rich, realistic virtual environments where robots can be simulated and tested before deployment.
Responsibilities
- Build parametric and procedural 3D environments for simulation
- Integrate AI-assisted workflows to generate simulations and/or assets from inputs like text and images
- Tune and customize simulation engine performance to support large-scale simulation runs
- Implement custom sensor models to better reflect real-world robot sensing
- Collaborate closely with robotics engineers who will use and validate the tools you develop
Requirements
- Experience with Rust, Python, or C++ (or equivalent software development experience)
- Hands-on experience with 3D engines (e.g., Unreal, Unity, Ogre3D) and physics simulation (e.g., PhysX, ODE, Dart)
- Experience with parametric 3D modeling (e.g., Blender nodes, OpenSCAD)
- Experience working with generative AI for 3D/CAD workflows
- Ability to share and discuss your public work (e.g., GitHub, open-source contributions, papers, blog posts)
Nice to Have
- Experience with robotics or robotics simulators
- Experience with Photogrammetry or NeRF
- Background in cloud computing or high-performance computing
- Experience with GIS data sources
- Experience building or training ML models for generative AI
- Experience with 3D printing
- UI/UX experience
