About the Role
National Life Group is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform & Site Reliability Engineering Lead to help strengthen the reliability, performance, and operational excellence of our cloud platform. You’ll lead efforts that ensure our systems are resilient, secure, and ready to support critical insurance and annuity services.
Location: Addison, VT.
Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Lead site reliability engineering practices to improve system uptime, latency, and incident response.
- Own reliability standards and drive continuous improvements across cloud infrastructure and platform services.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and operationalize scalable, fault-tolerant solutions.
- Set expectations for monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks to support faster recovery.
- Identify recurring issues and implement automation to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cloud platform engineering and/or SRE leadership.
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, including incident management and postmortems.
- Experience with cloud operations, observability practices, and automation.
- Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and mentor engineering teams.
