Senior Communications Manager, Cloud & AI (Hybrid)

About the Role

Microsoft’s Cloud and AI Communications team is seeking a Senior Communications Manager to help communicate how AI breakthroughs are powered by responsible, large-scale infrastructure. This high-visibility role will shape clear narratives across a fast-moving portfolio including AI infrastructure, capacity expansion, and energy and water sustainability.

You’ll translate complex technical and business topics into stories that earn trust with communities and stakeholders—while staying responsive to emerging issues in a closely watched area of technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive storytelling across a high-priority communications portfolio, including AI infrastructure and sustainability initiatives
• Manage reactive communications and issues coverage with speed, clarity, and sound judgment
• Partner with engineering, marketing, regional communications, corporate teams, external affairs, legal, and agency partners
• Develop messaging that connects technical details to customer, community, and market impact
• Coordinate narrative development across internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistency and credibility

Requirements

• Proven communications leadership experience, ideally within technology, infrastructure, or a similarly complex industry
• Strong ability to translate technical concepts into accessible, compelling narratives
• Demonstrated capability in issues management and fast-turnaround communications
• Excellent collaboration skills across cross-functional teams and external partners
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to accuracy and tone
