About the Role

Join the Application Modernization Platform (AMP) team as a Senior Engineering Manager supporting a mission-critical effort: using generative AI to help transform legacy applications into modern, microservices-based architectures powered by MongoDB. Your work will help ensure the new systems preserve business logic correctness while performing reliably and at scale across evolving MongoDB data ecosystems.

You will lead a team building essential CodeGen tools and a complex product suite that applies GenAI capabilities to real-world modernization challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineers building CodeGen tooling for application modernization
• Drive architecture and technical direction for large-scale services
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define product and engineering goals
• Ensure engineering best practices across reliability, performance, and scalability
• Make hands-on technical contributions while guiding team execution
• Support delivery of GenAI-driven workflows that maintain business logic equivalence

Requirements

• Proven experience as a software engineering leader (senior lead/manager) on complex systems
• Strong background in database ecosystems, with experience supporting production data platforms
• Track record reshaping and scaling large services or platforms
• Hands-on expertise in modern backend engineering practices
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence architectural decisions
• Comfort working on GenAI-enabled products and translating requirements into technical solutions
