About the Role
Avantia Law is expanding its funds practice across the Americas and is seeking a Senior Funds Lawyer to help lead growth from day one. This is a leadership position with the autonomy to shape how a modern funds practice operates—setting strategy, guiding delivery, and building a high-performing team.
This role is available for candidates in the USA or Canada and is remote.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the funds practice with clear strategic support from the firm
- Partner directly with key decision-makers to drive fast, meaningful change
- Collaborate with the broader legal team to deliver high-quality funds and compliance work
- Develop practical, repeatable workflows that improve speed while managing risk
- Support hiring and mentoring to build a team with strong legal judgment and execution
Requirements
- Substantial experience advising on investment funds and fund-related legal matters
- Proven leadership ability, with a track record of driving practice development
- Strong judgment and comfort owning complex matters end-to-end
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders
- Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction (or eligibility to obtain)
