About the Role
Fastly is building a more trustworthy Internet by helping customers deliver fast, secure digital experiences from the edge. As a Staff Backend Software Engineer on the Monetization Platform team, you’ll design and improve backend services that support how customers measure, price, and grow their usage.
Responsibilities
- Own backend architecture and implementation for monetization-related platform components
- Develop scalable services that operate reliably in a distributed, edge-focused environment
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver features end to end
- Improve performance, observability, and reliability through solid engineering practices
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction for the team
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience building production services
- Demonstrated ability to design for scale, reliability, and maintainability
- Experience with modern software development practices (testing, CI/CD, code reviews)
- Comfort working with distributed systems and performance/latency tradeoffs
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
