About the Role
Foodsmart is building a nutrition-driven healthcare platform at national scale. We’re looking for a Staff Data Engineer to help design and operate data systems that power personalized clinical nutrition care for more than 3 million members across employer plans, Medicaid managed care, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurers.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and analytics-ready data models.
- Own data engineering best practices for reliability, performance, and data quality.
- Collaborate with product, clinical, and engineering teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
- Implement and improve monitoring, testing, and documentation for data workflows.
- Support data governance and secure handling of sensitive information.
Requirements
- Strong experience in data engineering and building end-to-end data pipelines.
- Proficiency with modern data tooling (e.g., data warehouses/lakes, ETL/ELT, orchestration, and SQL).
- Experience designing for scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Ability to troubleshoot data issues and improve system observability.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
