About the Role
Renesas is looking for a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead facilities mechanical engineering efforts across our company-owned 120-acre semiconductor manufacturing campus in Palm Bay, FL. You will provide technical ownership for mechanical systems that support wafer fabrication, testing, and critical campus operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for complex mechanical systems, including HVAC, process piping, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Own engineering support for the Industrial/DI Water Plant and related mechanical infrastructure.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, construction teams, and external vendors to maintain reliability and performance.
- Ensure systems meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support cost control through effective engineering planning, documentation, and lifecycle thinking.
- Drive long-term sustainability improvements for campus facilities.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical engineering background with experience supporting industrial or semiconductor-relevant facilities.
- Proven ability to lead technical problem-solving for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and managing external vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of relevant building systems, safety expectations, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to translate engineering requirements into practical maintenance and construction outcomes.
