About the Role
Chime is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help design, build, and launch AI capabilities that improve the experience for our members. You’ll work within the AI & App Experience organization, where Jade—our AI-powered financial assistant—supports millions of people as they manage spending, track subscriptions, and work toward their financial goals through natural, dependable conversations.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for how we build AI features using large language models (LLMs)
- Architect agent-based systems, including conversation flows and supporting services
- Design evaluation frameworks to measure quality, safety, and reliability before and after launch
- Implement guardrails and safeguards so AI experiences can scale safely across millions of members
- Prototype quickly and iterate on new agent capabilities and member-facing interaction patterns
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality AI product improvements
Requirements
- Strong software engineering experience building production systems
- Experience designing and shipping applications that use LLMs and/or agent frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to create evaluation and monitoring approaches for AI/LLM quality and safety
- Experience with reliability, experimentation, and safety-minded engineering in large-scale environments
- Comfort working hands-on across architecture, implementation, and iteration
