About the Role
ID.me is building a secure digital identity wallet that helps people prove who they are online once, then use that identity across participating websites and services. We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Member Support Applications Team and help design, build, and improve applications that support member experiences at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and engineering of member support applications, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-impact features
- Drive technical design reviews and mentor engineers through best practices
- Improve system performance, observability, and operational readiness
- Contribute to secure development practices and risk-aware engineering decisions
Requirements
- Strong experience building production software systems in a modern application stack
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence cross-team execution
- Experience with cloud-based services, APIs, and distributed systems
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills
- Commitment to security, privacy, and reliability in software development
