About the Role
Join our team as a Lead Transmission Grid Engineer, where you will guide system research focused on electrical power grid infrastructure analysis. Your work will emphasize grid resilience and support growth of the Cyber and Infrastructure Resilience (CIR) program within the Global Security (GS) Principal Associate Directorate.
You will collaborate with national labs, utilities, and vendors, and may travel to DOE headquarters and partner institutions to advance research tied to the Department of Energy’s Grid Modernization Initiative and Department of Defense (DoD) priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead system research for power grid infrastructure analysis with an emphasis on resilience
- Contribute to business development activities for the CIR program
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including utilities and technology vendors
- Support collaborations across the research portfolio for electric grid infrastructure
- Travel as needed to DOE headquarters, national labs, and partner organizations
Requirements
- Experience in transmission grid engineering and power systems analysis
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical research or engineering efforts
- Strong understanding of grid resilience concepts and related infrastructure analysis
- Experience collaborating with external organizations (e.g., utilities, vendors, labs)
- Willingness to travel and participate in in-person collaboration when required
