About the Role
CarGurus is looking for a Manager of Data Platform Engineering to help power the data systems behind our online automotive journey. You’ll lead teams that build reliable, scalable platforms enabling analytics and data-driven experiences for customers and dealerships.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor data platform engineering teams, setting clear goals and coaching for high performance
- Drive the design and delivery of data platform capabilities across ingestion, storage, processing, and access
- Partner with engineering, product, and data stakeholders to align platform priorities with business needs
- Improve platform reliability, performance, and operational excellence through monitoring, automation, and best practices
- Ensure data quality, security, and governance are built into platform workflows
Requirements
- Experience leading engineering teams focused on data platforms or large-scale data systems
- Strong knowledge of modern data architecture, distributed systems, and data pipelines
- Proficiency with cloud-based technologies and data tooling used to build scalable platforms
- Track record of delivering improvements in reliability, scalability, and developer productivity
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical partners
