About the Role
Join Providence’s clinical laboratory team as an Associate Laboratory Assistant. You’ll support the Laboratory Supervisor and, when needed, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) by performing hands-on specimen collection and lab support tasks in a safe, professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Assist with specimen collection, including venipuncture and skin puncture
- Support specimen processing and distribution across the laboratory
- Operate and maintain automated laboratory instrumentation (within assigned scope)
- Provide patient care support for individuals across the lifespan
- Complete non-technical duties such as inventory tracking, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean work area
- Follow established laboratory policies, procedures, and safety standards
Requirements
- Ability to provide patient-focused support and follow clinical protocols
- Comfort working in a fast-paced laboratory environment with attention to safety
- Basic knowledge of specimen handling, processing, and lab workflow
- Reliability in maintaining supplies, equipment cleanliness, and documentation
