Senior Platform Engineer, Security (DevSecOps) | Hybrid/Onsite Options

About the Role

Simplesense is building and sustaining the Installation Resilience Platform that helps mission operators protect critical infrastructure from cyber threats. As a Senior Platform Engineer focused on security, you’ll help ensure the platform can rapidly adapt to evolving adversary tactics while improving how incidents are monitored, diagnosed, and resolved.

Join a non-traditional defense contractor and a prime on the Air Force’s Installation Resilience Operations Command and Control (IROC) program, expanding from a prototype installation to additional Air Force, Space Force, and Army sites.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and harden security-focused platform capabilities across cloud and infrastructure components
• Implement DevSecOps practices to support secure software delivery and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with engineering and cybersecurity teams to reduce risk and strengthen detection and response workflows
• Support monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident-related improvements to reduce response times
• Contribute to secure-by-design patterns, including identity, access, and vulnerability management

Requirements

• Experience building and operating secure platforms in cloud environments
• Strong understanding of security engineering principles (e.g., threat-aware design, secure deployment, and hardening)
• Hands-on DevSecOps experience supporting CI/CD, security controls, and automated assurance
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver mission outcomes
• Experience working in regulated or defense-adjacent environments is a plus
