About the Role
Join our project team as a Distribution Engineer II focused on grid distribution engineering. This role follows a hybrid schedule with in-office work 3 days per week at our Sargent & Lundy office in Peachtree Corners, GA.
You will apply strong engineering and design practices to lead project work, collaborate with designers and engineers, and support delivery of overhead and underground distribution projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review construction sketches and work packages for overhead and underground distribution facilities (4 kV through 38 kV)
- Develop and review pole loading analyses
- Complete voltage drop and flicker calculations
- Support cable pulling planning and coordination
- Create and maintain bill of materials and support cost estimates
- Coordinate joint-use requirements
- Contribute to traffic control plans and/or permit drawings
- Assist with preliminary project scoping
- Perform field work when needed
- Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components
Requirements
- Experience with electric distribution design and engineering practices
- Working knowledge of power calculations such as voltage drop and flicker
- Ability to review and produce construction documentation and work packages
- Familiarity with overhead/underground distribution systems and related analyses
- Comfort collaborating in a team environment and supporting other engineers and designers
