About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Embedded Software Architect to lead the design and architecture of embedded software for next-generation commercial vehicle Electronic Braking Systems and Steering Systems. In this onsite role in Troy, Michigan, you’ll define scalable, real-time, safety-compliant, and cybersecurity-ready software architectures that support performance, reliability, and global automotive standards.
Responsibilities
- Own software architecture strategy for braking and steering platform(s) across multiple vehicle programs
- Design scalable, real-time embedded software architectures for control units and related subsystems
- Use modeling and simulation to support data-driven technical and product decisions
- Lead mentoring and technical guidance for embedded software engineers
- Influence enterprise-wide technology decisions by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders
- Ensure solutions align with safety, cybersecurity, and relevant automotive compliance expectations
Requirements
- Proven experience in embedded software architecture for automotive or safety-critical systems
- Strong understanding of real-time software concepts and system design practices
- Experience with safety and cybersecurity-oriented development approaches (automotive domain preferred)
- Ability to lead technical direction and mentor engineers within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience delivering architectures across multiple programs or product lines
